Attendance
Competition
a. Trophies
will be awarded annually to the lady and gentleman with the highest number of
points.
b. Points awarded as follows:- 2 points for a Sunday Run, l for morning, l for afternoon. 1 point for attendance at Club Night
c . No member can earn more than three points per week, these can
be earned on Club tours, weekends etc.
d . Points
will be earned if competing in Club or open events in the name of Clevedon and
District Road Club, or otherwise representing the club in any way
e . Points
will be marked up on the Club notice board each week any member having a
dispute should first contact the Club captain
f . The
competitions shall run from 1st. September to 3lst August.
g. Any matter, not provided, for in these regulations, shall be
dealt with by the committee
Tourist
B.A.R. (for the Clarence Wilkins Memorial Trophy
To be awarded annually to the member gaining the most
points on the following basis:- Points award ONLY to members on a pedal cycle
at an event pre nominated by the committee: normally by inclusion on the runs
list
2 points for a Sunday Run
3 points Club overnight (i.e. YHA. Bed and breakfast
etc
4 points Touring event (i.e. Tourist Trial, Standard Ride etc.) Competing
3 points Touring event. (i.e. Tourist Trial. Standard Ride etc.) Assisting
On a Club Tour 3 points for each night plus 2 points
for the last day
Tourist Championship cup (presented by L
Wilkins
Awarded to the rider setting the best performance in
the nominated event
Youth Hostel Cup (presented by G Green
Awarded to the member staying the greatest number of
nights at hostels as appearing
listed on the
club programme, ties decided by the greatest total bed nights between 1st September and 3lst August
Merit
Shield (presented by the Bristol D.A. of the C.T.C. ).
Awarded for meritorious service to the club. A vote to be taken at the A.G.M on
nominations from club members
Freewheeling
Trophy
Members riding cycles equipped with freewheels may
have two rides down the nominated hill.
The winner, being the person who travels furthest, without physically
assisting the machine.
Gordano Cup (presented by A. Tebbutt.
Awarded for meritorious
racing by a subcommittee elected by the committee. The award is made for effort, not necessarily successful. This cup is not necessarily awarded each
year. The name of the winner is kept
secret until the Annual Dinner.
Ladies ‘10’ Plaque (presented by Janet
Tebbutt
Awarded to the Lady rider doing the fastest 10mile
time trial during the season.
The Norman Booth Randonneur Trophy
In 1982 a new trophy competition has been
established. It is designed to
encourage members to take part in touring events in which the demands are not
on high speed, non stop, over standard distances but on completing courses of
varying distances and severity at overall speeds between 15km/h and 30km/h.
This speed range allows for stops for refreshment, photograph taking etc. and
riders can ride in companionable groups
The trophy will perpetuate the memory of a well- liked
and respected club member who relished the challenge of the long distance
touring events. It will be called the Norman Booth Randonneur Trophy
Regulations
a.
Club events, events under Audax regulations and C.T.C.
events of a similar status will be included in the competition
b.
Events organised by the Club for Club members will be
ridden at speeds between l5km/h (9.375mph) and 3Okm/h (l8.75mph) (or at the
organisers discretion at a lower minimum speed
c.
There will b e controls (some of which may be secret)
to ensure that the speed limits are observed.
d.
At controls, riders will obtain the signature and
stamp of the controller and the riders time of arrival will be recorded
e.
It will be the responsibility of the rider to follow the
route correctly lest a secret control is missed
f.
If the rider takes the wrong road he/she must retrace
and join the route where it was left.
g.
Riders will be responsible for their own feeding
Competition
a.. An entry fee will be charged, the amount at
the discretion of the organiser
b.
Kilometers on control cards for completed events will
be added together for the season
This will be from A.G.M to
A.G.M
c. At least two events ridden must be Club
Events
d. The Club member with the most kilometres
ridden will be awarded the Norman Booth Randonneur Trophy.
e. In the case of a tie those will the same
kilometre score will share the trophy.
f.
It will be the responsibility of the contestant to
make his/her claim, with proof of his/her
Rides’, to the Touring
Secretary, no later than one week after the A.G.M
The Captain’s Challenge cup (Bob Potts Memorial Trophy)
Awarded on a points system (decided by the club
captain) for: All club Activities.
Time Trials: Audax events: Road Races and MTB. Cross
Country Races.
Conditions
for Awards for Time Trials
a.
All Club, championship and best all rounder awards are
the, First Claim Members Only
b.
Members cannot take an award unless they have
completed six months membership. Or at the discretion of the committee (passed 1982).
Club
Time Trial Championship
a. Championships for
men shall be held at 10, 25 and 50 miles.
b. Championships for
women shall be held at 10, 25 and 50 miles
c Championships for
juniors (over 16 under 18) shall be held at 10, 25 and 50 miles.
d Championships for
Schoolboys/girls shall be held at 10 and 25 miles
e Championships
shall be held at 100 miles and 12 hours and Hill Climb shall be for all classes
f The Championships
will be awarded to the rider with the best performance in an event, nominated
by the committee at the appropriate distance
g. If no
12 hour event is held on a West D.C. course, the performance in a 12 hour event
in other district will be eligible for the Championship.
Club
Best All Rounder Competition Regulations
a.
Distances for the men’s B.A.R. Competition shall be
25, 50 and 100 miles.
b.
Distances for
the ladies B.A.R. Competition shall be 10, 25 and 50 miles
c.
Distances for the juniors (over l6 under 18) B.A.R.
Competition shall be 2 at 10 miles and 2 at 25 miles.
d.
Distances for the Schoolboy/girl (under 16) B.A.R.
Competition shall be 2 at 8 miles and 2 at 10 miles
e.
Qualifying times for the B.A.R. will be taken for any
Club or Open Time Trials at the stated distances.
f.
Qualifying times for the B.A.R. will be from events
held between 1st March and the date of the A.G.M.
g.
All B.A.R. qualifying rides must be timed with the
approved timepiece.
h.
The method used for calculation of B.A.R. average
speed will be that used for the British Best All Rounder Competition.
Club
Evening Eight Time Trial Competition
Medals will be awarded to the fastest riders in s
season of Club Evening time trials in the following categories:-
1
Overall Fastest.
2. Fastest Junior. 3. Fastest
Schoolboy/girl. 4 Fastest Lady
The awards will be made at the discretion of the
committee.
Club Road Race Competitions.
Conditions
for awards for Road & Circuit Racing
a.
Club road and circuit racing championships are for First Claim Members Only.
b.
Members cannot take an award unless they have
completed six months membership
Club
Road & Circuit Racing Championships
a.
A circuit racing championship will be held for
schoolboys and schoolgirls (under l6)
b.
A road/circuit racing championship will b e held for
juniors (l6-18 years)
c.
A road/circuit racing championship will be held for
seniors (over 18 years)
Club
Road & Circuit Racing Championship Regulations
a.
The road and circuit racing championships will be
awarded to members in each category who accrue the greatest number of points
during the Season.
b.
The Season will that part of the year up to the Club
A.G.M
c.
The points will be awarded using the B.C.F. Category
points system.
For any road or First Place. 6 points.
Circuit Scratch Race Second Place 5 points
Third Place 4 points
Fourth Place 3 points
Fifth Place 2 points
Sixth Place. 1 point.
d.
The points table shall be kept up to date by the road
race secretary
e.
The onus is on members to submit to the road race
secretary relevant race results
