CDRC Chain Gang Update

Unfortunately, we have taken the decision to suspend our Thursday evening Chain Gang sessions until further notice.

The condition of the roads on our Chain Gang route has deteriorated significantly over recent months. The number and severity of potholes have now reached a point where they pose a serious risk to rider safety, particularly during high-speed group riding and close-formation riding.

In addition to the safety concerns, a number of members have suffered damage to their bikes as a direct result of the poor road surfaces. We feel it would be irresponsible to continue running the sessions while these hazards remain.

Despite reporting the issues and contacting both the local council and

, no meaningful action has been taken to repair the affected sections of road. As a result, the club is now in the process of raising these concerns with our local MP in an effort to secure action before a serious injury occurs.

The safety of our members must always come first. We will continue to monitor the situation and review the decision regularly. As soon as the route is safe again, we will announce the return of the Chain Gang.
