Clevedon & District Road Club

Road Rides

Sunday Club Run
The main weekly ride
Every Sunday morning, many of our members come together for the regular club run, a sociable ride typically ranging from 50 to 70 miles. Starting and finishing in Clevedon, the ride always includes a well-deserved café stop to refuel and chat.
Riders are grouped into six pace-based categories, with each group led by an experienced Ride Leader to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
You can expect to be back home around lunchtime, having enjoyed great company, scenic routes, and a satisfying ride!
Details:
Rides normally start from Clevedon Triangle (https://what3words.com/popped.reef.only) at 0830, but there is a main meeting point after a few miles to accommodate those who live elsewhere and those who prefer to make their own way to the main rendezvous. This is where the 6 groups get organised and depart independently under the control of their respective Ride Leaders.
The groups are based on average speed, ranging from about 12 to 18 mph, so everyone can
ride at a pace they’re comfortable with.
Groups normally comprise up to 10 riders. Should there be more than this, the group will
split into two, in the interests of road safety and considerate road use.
There are 3 possible meeting points, depending on the route. The chosen one will always be
announced in advance.

Ride leaders will prepare a route which will be sent out in advance on WhatsApp, so that
those with GPS navigation devices can upload it.
Ride leaders will manage their groups on the road, in particular making sure that nobody is
left behind, especially new members or guests.
A choice of 2 cafés will be suggested for each Sunday, and Ride Leaders will plan their routes
accordingly. Depending on individual routes and speeds, multiple groups often meet at the
café stop.

Saturday Rides
The Coffee & Croissant ride
Join us for our Saturday "Coffee & Croissant Ride," a more relaxed and social spin perfect for riders of all levels. This ride tends to attract a mixed group and follows a standard 25-mile (40km) route, with a mid-ride stop at the charming "Honey & Ginger" café for, you guessed it, delicious coffee and fresh croissants.
We meet at 9am at the junction of Davis Lane and Kennmoor Road (also known as Kenn Pier) - https://what3words.com/terribly.starlight.noun, and typically return to Clevedon by 11am—though the exact time depends on how much we enjoy chatting over coffee!
It’s a great way to start the weekend, so come along and ride with us!

Wednesday Rides
The Chain Gang
During the summer evenings at 7pm, we host our popular Wednesday "Chain Gang" ride on our TT course. The starting point is on Davis Lane, by the Hand Stadium.
